American Idol has taken on a life of its own in today’s pop culture. Americans have become fascinated with the lives of young adults who are leading ordinary everyday lives but have amazing vocal talents. The audience can identify and relate to the day to day challenges that face these very talented contestants. The American Idol viewers identify with the stories of the contestants and soon choose their favorites in the competition. That’s exactly what happened to Orieen Hope, the office manager for Dr. Joseph Henry at the Orange Center for Cosmetic Dentistry.

Orieen, a faithful fan of American Idol, was touched by the story of LaKisha Jones. LaKisha, a devout Christian and single mother of a three year old at the time of the show, eventually finished in fourth place in the competition. Orieen told Flint Michigan reporter Sally York that “LaKisha deserved a smile that was as dynamic as her voice”. During her full rehearsal schedule for the upcoming American Idol Tour, LaKisha squeezed in a consultation appointment with Dr Henry. “After meeting LaKisha it was obvious we wanted to do something very special for her. What struck me was her genuine, sincere, personality, just like on the show”, Dr. Henry said. After the consultation appointment, Orieen remarked “the spaces between her teeth were even larger than what could be seen on the TV. I knew Dr. Henry was the right cosmetic dentist to make her smile as dynamic as her voice”.

“I’m so thankful for what Dr. Henry and Orieen have done for me. Never in a million years did I ever dream I could have a Hollywood Smile like the one I have now. I have been on tour for three months, and am set to join the Broadway cast of The Color Purple in December 2007. I even had my smile makeover published in the Star Magazine. I can’t stop smiling and praising God for all of my blessings,” LaKisha said.

“We placed twenty porcelain veneers on LaKisha’s upper and lower teeth. I couldn’t help but smile when I saw a close up of LaKisha’s smile makeover on the Jumbotron while she was singing during a recent concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim” says Dr. Henry. We are all so happy for LaKisha’s success and know that the future will continue to smile on her.
